Jan.8, 2010 The latest news is the creation of the Fly-N-Hi race truck...it is coming along amazingly!! We dream pretty big here at Fly and because of that we are 7 days from qualifying race day at the King of the Hammers (www.kingofthehammers.com) ...and still some 'fine tuning' to do. I will include photos soon! Passion is an amazing thing! We have a group of friends and partners that are volunteering their products, valuable time, and superior talent to build this truck. We have amazing partners in the truck - Valley Steel Supply, Trailmaster, Articulate Motion, Finish Line Racing, BS Sand, Crane Hi Clearance, PSC, Daystar, Western Refining, Lopers Performance, Airaid, Copper State Bolt & Nut, OR-Fab, Mobil 1, Hughes Performance, K/C Hilites, Los Borachos Racing, Fodrill Motorsports, CNC Brakes, Mosers Axles, Forced Induction Tuning - and without them this truck would still be just a dream. Stop by the shop to check it out...or check back as I will be posting photos soon!! Check out the website to see what the race is all about...the link is on the homepage and the events page of our website!
Jan. 14, 2010 - Fly-N-Hi Racing was just named #43 in the starting line up at the King of the Hammers! We are so excited about the opportunity. The truck is getting closer and closer to completion, although there is always a lot to be done!! Keep checking back, as we will post more pictures as we continue the build.
Jan. 17, 2010 - Truck went to Finish Line Racing for wiring...after sleepless hours (about 35) - the wiring is done and ready to go to the next stage. Every day has afforded us another accomplishment! We have one heck of a race team - the dedication and passion that all have shown is second to none!!
Feb. 22, 2010 - What a rush!! The Griffin King of the Hammers was the best experience ever!! We learned a lot about the race, the track, the truck, and our very own expectations!! The track itself was the most amazing terrain we have seen! From desert racing to rock crawling at it's best. If you haven't had the privilege of going to the race even just to hang out...we strongly recommend it. The entertainment - if you like racing and rock crawling - was awesome!! Fly-N-Hi Racing was proud to end up 52nd in the race. Although we did not finish due to time - this was after breaking an axel and fighting our way through the rocks in 3wd (thank God for the winch) - we did complete 86 miles of the race....and it was amazing!! Check out the websites www.pirate4x4.com and www.kingofthehammers.com - look for us. You will also be able to view the race in June on the Speed Channel! Come see us at the shop if you want to hear more about the race or the truck itself. Our in house fabricator DAVE DECKER OF ARTICULATE MOTION designed and built this truck from the ground up.
